Elizabeth Roe married Thomas Dakin on 27 July 1797
at St Peter's Church, Parwich.
 

 

The two sisters, Elizabeth Dakin (1784) and Mary Roe (1776), died on the same day, the 17th February 1807—murdered by poisoning. A Parwich man, William Webster was tried for the murder and after a trial lasting 13 hours, he was found guilty. He also poisoned Tom Dakin, Jane Fearn and four other people.

Mary and Elizabeth were buried on 21 February 1807
at St Peter's Church in Parwich.

under the chestnut tree at the east of the church.

Elizabeth
is buried with her husband, Thomas Dakin,
close to the west door of the church.
