Thomas Roe (1772) married Catherine Sarah Elphinstone.

In 1799 he became the Rector of Kirkby on Bain, Lincolnshire.

Catherine Sarah Elphinstone was baptised  on 17 June 1775 at Alverstoke, Hampshire.
She was the daughter of Admiral John Elphinstone.

 

In 1769, John Elphinstone was lent to Catherine, Empress of Russia, under whom he served as a Brigadier General and Rear Admiral. Whilst in command of the Russian Fleet, he completely destroyed the Turkish Fleet at Tchesme in 1773. On quitting the Russian service, he commanded various ships in the Royal Navy and was present in Magnificent, July 1779, when Admiral Byron defeated the French off Grenada, and in 1780 in the three attacks upon the French fleet.
